Meredith W. Hammock
Meredith is an associate in the firm’s Real Estate and Corporate Finance groups. During her legal career, Meredith has worked on a wide range of matters, including commercial and public contract drafting, negotiation and compliance related to large- and small-scale construction projects, aviation law, technology, and Federal and local small business policies and programs. Most recently, she provided tax related consulting services at one of the world’s largest accounting firms, focusing primarily on state and local income/franchise and indirect tax matters, including legal entity rationalization projects, organizational restructuring projects, due diligence projects, planning feasibility reviews, representing taxpayers during audit and administrative appeals proceedings, and providing technical analyses on various state and local tax issues.
Meredith has vast experience with federal and local Small Business Policies and Programs, including Federal Disadvantaged Business Enterprise and Airport Concession Disadvantaged Enterprise regulations and compliance; government law, including public records, Florida Sunshine Law requirements and compliance, and bid procedures for construction and professional services; construction law, including large- and small-scale projects; and complex contract drafting and negotiation, including technology-related negotiations and international contract negotiation.
Prior to joining Watson Sloane, Meredith was an Associate with a national tax advisory firm, where she focused primarily on state and local income and franchise tax and indirect tax consulting for public and privately held clients, including state and local tax compliance. While attending law school, Meredith interned with the Florida House of Representatives and the Florida Governor’s Office.
